March 14, 2013

Have you noticed?  The energy seems to have changed, especially with the onset of daylight savings time this week.  Estate sale finds have been steadily picking up.  We've hopefully paid off most of our holiday indulgences and are ready to shop again.  Sellers and Buyers are sensing the onset of spring and new fragrances in the air!

I've updated my collection to note recent sales, including the Corbusier-style lounge chair, the Saarinen executive side chair, the Nelson slat bench, the San Francisco cable car Couroc tray and the originally-boxed Dansk cutting board.

Some of my new mid century finds include another black slat bench - this one with extending ends (SOLD), a set of 2 Cal-Dak folding metal TV trays, a folding wood wine rack (SOLD), a set of 4 Bolero footed therm-o-ware bowls, a Replogle globe (SOLD), an Elcar Trailer Co. industrial metal sconce, a Vornado fan (SOLD), several black wire stands (SOLD), a Lux wrought iron starburst clock, a Toledo Guild industrial typewriter stand and a Hardoy-style butterfly chair (SOLD)- all in great vintage condition.

See you soon here, on Etsy, on krrb, on Facebook and in Evanston!

February 5, 2013

Well, so much for January...  My architectural practice got a bit busy so I never posted the pictures that I mentioned.

Since then, there are numerous additions perfect for Valentine's Day, such as a framed, original Janet Lieberman print "Woven Dreams" from her 1990's "Personal Archeology" series, unnumbered because the group was used by a prominent hotel chain

The other, carefully selected vintage pieces include a set of 50's stacking snack tables & an abalone-inlaid top 60's snack table SOLD - both with hairpin legs, a black wire/wrought iron magazine rack with removable basket along with a shelf/slotted record stand SOLD & a wider stand with shelves SOLD, an orange California drip glaze pottery planter, an unflawed & fabulous Nambe silver shrimp & dip bowl SOLD, a floor-to-ceiling 3-shade pole lamp SOLD, a Tiffany typewriter stand, a banker's table lamp, a teak salad bowl set as well as a large Missouri walnut salad bowl, another original print "Cityscape" by Louise Bernard 1971, a Coca Cola button thermometer sign & an amazing early Dansk staved teak canoe bowl marked with 4 ducks IHQ Danmark SOLD.

Photos on the way!  Talk with you soon...

January 3, 2013

May this New Year be truly new for us in ways that matter.

I'm especially excited about some of my new mid century modern finds, like the Murano/Venini-style white swirl glass mushroom table desk lamp for $550.

And the Knoll/Miller-style 48" oak table desk with red top and handy sliding pedestal with 2 drawers that can be used on the left or right for $595.

Then there is the Sonneman swing arm floor lamp with original shade at $325.

The Nelson-style 48" ebonized slat bench, $395.

Also a newer primitive piece from the 1990's, an evocative signed wood carving by the young but already highly collected Spanish-Hopi artist Gregory Lomayesva of Santa Fe for $600.

I will post the pictures soon!
