SOLD REFINISHED 48" Nelson Platform Slat Bench in ebony!
As first described in my September 12 post,
this slat bench in ebonized wood, originally
designed in 1948 by George
Nelson for Herman
Miller, is the ultimate iconic multipurpose
display and resting place. It is one of the best
known images of mid century
modernism.
Measuring a handy 48" x 18" x 14" H, the
bench/table was
originally meant to support
heavy storage pieces, making it functional
as
well as beautiful. Some minor touch-up is
included if you want: the black finish is
chipped off in areas, mostly on the one leg. And
there is a small piece of chipped
veneer on one
corner of the seat frame. Not a big deal to get it
fixed.
Signed. Ca 1980's. $725.
